Camp Airy Wrestling Camp
Airy, Weeks 7 & 8, August 5, 6, 7, 8, 10

Long time staff member and current Commissioner of Wrestling for the City of New York, Larry Cantor, will conduct a special two-week session at the end of the Summer of '08 that focuses on the development of wrestling skills and techniques as well as proper preparation methods. Larry will be assisted by trained coaches and instructors working under his supervision. Featured guest coaches will be Tom Shifflet from Hofstra University and Brednan Buckley from Columbia University. Call camp for additional information.

Fitness

Fitness Track featuring Krav Maga (Israeli self defense) Louise

The Camp Louise Fitness Track will be available to Louise campers as an integral part of the camp experience in the Summer of '08. Featuring Israeli Krav Maga fitness and self-defense, skilled trainers will come to camp twice a week for hourly sessions with groups divided by age. Krav Maga is the official self-defense system of the Israeli Defense Forces, with a unique combination of training and practical self-defense. It's unlike any other self-defense system in the world - and it is now available at Camp Louise. For more information visit www.kravmd.com.

This is an optimal choice for campers with an interest in creating a schedule focused on health and wellness. This program will be available throughout the summer, and options would include nutritional guidance as well as routine morning power walks, afternoon swims, use of the "Spa Louise" and other fitness modes to encourage health of mind and body.

No additional fee. Limited sign ups for Krav Maga classes. Parental waiver required.

Deep Dives

SCUBA Certification Airy & Louise, ages 12 and up, Weeks 7 & 8 August 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 – full day participation required

SCUBA Rangers Airy & Louise, ages 8-11, Weeks 5 & 6 July 23, 24, 25, 27, 28 – 3 hours per day

Building on the success of TrySCUBA, these programs offer a specialty area for campers interested in enhancing personal interests and skills in SCUBA during the Summer of '08. SCUBA Rangers is the leader in children's scuba education, and no one in the diving industry knows more about teaching kids to dive. The program allows younger campers to learn how to dive and prepare for their own personal adventure. SCUBA Certification for older campers will allow them to take their diving skills anywhere in the world!

Parents will be required to complete a detailed SCUBA health form and release if their camper is accepted into the program.

Fun with Food

Kitchen Studio Cooking
Airy & Louise, ages 8 – 11, Weeks 7 & 8

It's time to "Play with Your Food" in the Summer of '08 at the Kitchen Studio Cooking School in Frederick, MD. Offered to both Airy & Louise campers, The Kitchen Studio Cooking program allows to campers to work within a relaxed and creative atmosphere to learn new ways to cook, as attendees will prepare a themed meal each of the five days.

Extreme Camp at Camp Airy
Airy & Louise, ages 12 and up, Weeks 3 & 4

With activities like Mountain Boarding, Mountain Biking, Go Karts, Paint Ball and the use of the Ropes and Initiatives Course at Airy, this program is geared toward the camper looking for an extreme experience in the Summer of '08. Learn a new sport, challenge yourself or prepare for a future at the X-Games with the unique and exciting activities available through Extreme Camp.

Additional Fees May Apply

All programs are subject to minimum and maximum registrations. Families will be informed of program status prior to the start date of the special program. Campers must be enrolled for the full session that the special program takes place.
