Health Services
AIRY AND LOUISE each have two resident physicians and five or six registered nurses living at camp. The Health Centers are equipped to handle all first aid, medication from home, overnight stays and routine medical situations. The services of local hospitals are assured in the event their services are required. Maintaining communications with families of campers regarding emergencies and overnight stays in the Health Center is a priority of our camp medical staff. In either of these situations camp will make every effort to contact parents or emergency contacts to make you aware of your camper's medical needs. It may just be a call to let you know the night was spent in the Health Center, or that your input and presence may be recommended.
Our professional medical staff members will do their best to keep you informed of your camper's medical needs. Please review carefully the "Health Requirements" section of the camper's application and make certain you have your own health and accident coverage for your camper. In the spring, a "Parent Guide" will be sent to your home address which includes a health form and several important medical notations. No camper can be admitted to camp without a completed health form (completed by both parent/guardian and the camper's physician.) If you have any questions at all about the appropriateness of our camp settings for your camper, based on physical, emotional or other needs, please call the camp office prior to submitting your application.
Safety & Security
We want to assure our camp families that planning the summer for your camper really means serving your family. Your assurance that camp remains a safe, secure environment for your child is an important part of our planning. In that respect, Airy and Louise are working with State and Local authorities to ensure the safety of our campers and staff throughout the coming summer. We share this note in response to some calls from camp families, noting and acknowledging their concerns regarding the world around us.
Food Services
We are excited to share that once again we have the folks from "The Classic Catering People" overseeing and providing all the production of our meals for the coming summer. ("Classic," one of the Baltimore area's leading caterers, is renown for their quality service and preparation of delicious tasting foods as well as excellent presentation of meals.) Meals are served family and/or buffet style and are "kosher style" in their preparation (meat and dairy products are not combined in a single meal, no pork products or shell fish products are part of our menu.) Menus are planned with an eye towards camper tastes, nutritional needs and just fun dining experiences. Campers will enjoy cookouts during their stay as well.
