Health Services

Airy and Louise each have two resident physicians and five or six registered nurses living at camp. The Health Centers are equipped to handle all first aid, medication from home, overnight stays and routine medical situations. The services of local hospitals are assured in the event their services are required. Maintaining communications with families of campers regarding emergencies and overnight stays in the Health Center is a priority of our camp medical staff. In either of these situations camp will make every effort to contact parents or emergency contacts to make you aware of your camper's medical needs. It may just be a call to let you know the night was spent in the Health Center, or that your input and presence may be recommended.

Our professional medical staff members will do their best to keep you informed of your camper's medical needs. Please review carefully the "Health Requirements" section of the camper's application and make certain you have your own health and accident coverage for your camper. In the spring, a "Parent Guide" will be sent to your home address which includes a health form and several important medical notations. No camper can be admitted to camp without a completed health form (completed by both parent/guardian and the camper's physician.) If you have any questions at all about the appropriateness of our camp settings for your camper, based on physical, emotional or other needs, please call the camp office prior to submitting your application.
