Q: How early can I arrive at camp on check-in day?
A: Our arrival times have changed to make the process smoother for all campers and their families. Please plan to arrive between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. for all sessions except July 5. Those arriving on July 5 should plan to be at camp between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.

- Tuesday, June 22nd for tthe first Full Session and Short Session
- Monday, July 5th for the second Short Session
- Tuesday, July 20th for the second Full Session
- Monday, July 26th for the third Short Session
Rookie camp arrival days and times vary so please check the session schedule before you depart.
Q: What if my child's school schedule will affect his arrival date?
A: Some school systems have changed their calendars and the date classes will end. If your child's arrival date is affected, especially for CITs, please contact us at camp so we can plan accordingly.
Q: May I drop off all items at my child's bunk before checking in?
A: All campers must check in, set up a bank account and be screened by the medical staff prior to reporting to their assigned bunks. This policy remains in effect from year to year to ensure the safety of all campers and staff members.
Q: Will I be able to drive right to the bunk to unload my child's belongings as I did in the past?
A: At Camp Louise, parents park their cars outside the camp entrance at the bottom of the hill. Our staff members transport your two largest bags directly to your child's bunk. At Camp Airy, parents also park at the bottom of the hill. Your son's belongings are transported up the hill and unloaded at his bunk. At both camps, your child's belongings will be in the bunk by the time the check in process is completed.
Q: Is it too late to sign up for trips when I arrive at camp?
A: You may sign up for trips during check in but it is recommended that you send in the trip registration form prior to camp. Not only will this ensure space for your child on the trip she desires, but you save money by registering early.
Q: With more of the expenses included in the camp fees, why does my child need a bank account at camp?
A: Although most of the incidentals of camp are now included in the registration fee, your child will still want to have some money available for the soda machines and for trips out of camp. We recommend leaving your child with $20 per week in his or her bank account, with an additional $40 to $60 if your daughter is attending the "Louise on Broadway" trip. For CITs, a bank account of $200 is suggested with an extra $40 to $60 for "Louise on Broadway."
Q: How is the medical screening conducted at camp?
A: Upon your child's arrival, a member of our medical staff will assess your child to ensure he or she is healthy on the first day of camp. The examination follows your child's full physical examination conducted prior to his or her arrival at camp. Our medical staff will review the health history form, record your child's vital signs and check for lice. Please alert the staff if there are any changes to your child's health since the time he or she underwent the physical examination. During the medical check-in process, you will be invited to check your child's medication as provided by Lakeland Pharmacy, our new medication supplier.
Q: What happens if my child gets sick at camp?
A: Airy and Louise have two resident physicians and four to six registered nurses living at camp throughout the summer. Our health centers are equipped to handle all first aid, overnight stays and routine medical situations. In addition, local hospitals are close by in the event of an emergency. Please know that we will contact you if an overnight stay in the health center is warranted or if a visit to the hospital is needed. Our professional staff members will keep you informed as needed. If you are a RN and can assist on one of the opening days, please contact Bobbie Miller (Camp Louise) at bobbie@airylouise.org or 410-843-7530, or Rick Frankle (Camp Airy) at rick@airylouise.org or 410-843-7535.
