Welcome to Summer 2016!
It is hard to believe that it is already time for Summer 2016! We have literally been planning for this day since we left camp last summer – recruiting campers, interviewing and hiring staff, programming activities, ordering food, price checking supplies, attending conferences to learn best practices, giving tours to prospective families, traveling to Israel to train our Shlichim, shopping for crazy costumes for the summer, and so much more!
When the gates of Camp Louise opened early this morning, it all came together…..seeing the faces of the campers coming up the hill was truly incredible. Many of them have been counting down the days until today – their arrival at camp! Whether it is their 1st summer or their 9th, the smiles were huge – a little nervous, a lot excited, and extremely happy!
Many parents commented that they wish they could stay at camp for the summer – jealous of the experiences that await their children. The anticipation of activities they will get to try, new friends they will most certainly make, and independence they will absolutely gain. In addition, some parents asked if we increased the hill since each year it most definitely gets steeper…..
Look at the campers in this picture – the pure joy on their faces, the friendship, the love. You can feel it! And if this was just day #1, just you wait to see what lies ahead…..
Here’s to a safe, happy, and successful Summer 2016!
