Camps Airy & Louise is now online! Check out the schedule below for all types of fun interactive summertime activities!

Parents electing to have their children participate in events will review the individual activity and take steps to make sure their homes are safe and camper(s) supervised as needed.  The Camps Airy & Louise Code of Conduct will be upheld in all activities, including avoiding using language that is insensitive or offensive toward another’s race, color, creed, national origin, religion, physical or mental disability, age, gender, marital status, or sexual orientation.

Middah of the Week

Philanthropy / Charity / Tzedakah / צדקה

This week’s middah is charity – or Tzedakah. Some of you may have a Tzedakah box at home, have been encouraged to give Tzedakah at Hebrew School, or have seen your parents give Tzedakah to those in need. The core meaning of the word “Tzedakah”, however, is not charity, but righteousness and justice. When we give Tzedakah we are in an important way helping to create a more just society, by acknowledging and helping those who need our assistance. While at camp we don’t use money to give to Tzedakah, instead we make camp more just and righteous when we walk an injured camper to the health center, give comfort when a friend is sad, or make sure that everyone in the bunk gets a s’more. Please email us to let us know how you, your parents, or another camper are helping to make our world a better place.

Camp Louise’s farming partner AMIR is making at-home farming kits available at no cost. Each kit contains 4-6 seed packets, planting instructions, kid-centric activities, garden journals, magnifying glasses and bug identification cards. You can order a kit here.
