Camper-in-Training Day

Thank you for your interest in Camp Airy and Camp Louise's annual "Camper in Training Day!" This year, our CIT Day will take place on Thursday, July 10, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. right up at our beautiful camp sites – Camp Airy in Thurmont, Maryland and Camp Louise in Cascade, Maryland.

This day is guaranteed to be filled with fun, laughter, action, and friendships – and your campers should have a pretty great time, too!!!! It really is a super introduction to what we hope will be the start of many, many summers as an Airy/Louise camper (and who knows, maybe even counselor!).

Your camper will be taking part in a full day of camp; swimming, hiking, playing ball, doing crafts – whatever may be in the schedule of the group they are assigned. So, it is incredibly important that your camper be dressed accordingly. T-shirts, shorts and socks and sneakers are pretty much standard apparel for the day. Be sure to bring a swim suit, towel, sun screen and a cap as well (and if, heaven forbid, it's a little rainy that day – it wouldn't, would it?! – bring a sweatshirt or jacket – you know – just in case! This program goes rain or shine!!). You may want to throw your camper's softball mitt into the car, too – just in case there's a big game to play (we have extras if you forget!). Also, if your camper requires any type of medication throughout the day, please be sure to bring it along – you'll be giving the meds, so you need to carry them.

[By the way, as parent, YOU will also want to bring the swimsuit and stuff; fun's not limited to campers only, you know!!]

As a reminder, parents of campers will need to stay at camp for the full day. As we said, you'll have your own full day of programming, too. We'll be offering tours, answering questions, you'll be eating lunch at your own table and playing a bit as well. It should really be a fun day for all of us!! Our plan is to keep parents separate from their campers so you can all get a real feel for what it's like to be an Airy/Louise camper. Of course, if you have any questions, please feel free to call us at camp.
