In this episode of the podcast we begin a conversation with Alicia Berlin, Director of Camp Louise. Alicia shares memories of her own first days as a camper, when with a little help from camp staff and a reassuring vote of confidence from her mom, she rather quickly made the transition from hesitant to confident camper. She talks about her background as a camper, counselor, camper parent and teacher and how it provides her with an appreciation and interest in encouraging campers and staff to “being the best version of yourself”, for “trying new things” and what makes a “Shabbat bandana” and “grilled cheese and tomato soup” so meaningful at camp.
