Sponsored by Camps Airy & Louise, BUNKS: The Podcast opens a new avenue for us to share information and insights with our extended camp community. We’ve been in the business of caring about children and their families for close to 100 years. This customized collection of conversations with a variety of experts is available to either stream or download. You can listen anytime: at your desk, in the car or even after “lights out”.

BUNKS is hosted by our very own Dr. Manny Gerton, and features a wide range of educators, social workers, psychologists and doctors – all of whom bring a depth of experience specifically with children.  While many of you no doubt recognize Manny from dropping off your daughters at Camp Louise, during the year he is a practicing psychologist and consultant, and a member of the clinical faculty at The George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC.

Season 1 is entitled “Sometimes … Some Children”.  Attending to our commitment to the growth and development of the children in our Camps Airy & Louise community, we’re very aware that they, and their families, can often face a number of challenges in their everyday lives. Now of course we know it’s not all the children, all the time. But it’s likely that at least some of the children some of the time are confronted with some dilemma, situation or decision that can require a range of resources to cope with that particular episode in their lives.  This season of the podcast hopes to address some of these issues.

Episode 1:  Anxiety

Episode 2: Making Friends

Episode 3: Finding a Path to Empowerment

Episode 4: Confronting the Ongoing Impact of Health Issues

And Apple iTunes or iPhone users can subscribe by clicking here and every episode will automatically download as they are released.

Please feel free to pass it on to anyone you think might be interested and let us know how much you enjoy it!  Our second season will premiere in February, and we’re always looking for new ideas and contributors. Email manny@airylouise.org with your feedback or thoughts at any time.
