MIDDAH OF THE WEEK – CURIOSITY
I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.
-Albert Einstein
Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning.
-William Arthur Ward
When you’re curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.
-Walt Disney
The campers who demonstrated the middah of curiosity/sakranut were honored to light candles with me on Shabbat. Some of the reasons they were selected were:
- When this Unit A camper thought a friend was upset, she was curious and she asked to have a talk with her friend. She is constantly talking to new girls and wanting to learn all about her bunkmates and her counselors.
- When these two Unit B campers saw a Unit A camper who was lost, they were curious if she was okay. They helped the camper get to the pool and made sure she was okay before they headed to their next activity.
- These two Unit F campers were curious how they could help rejuvenate the rose garden so they created a whole plan. They wrote it up, discussed it with their Division Head and then with me. They are in the process of following up with the farmers so they can then put their plan into action!
- This Unit F camper has been extremely welcoming to the international campers in her bunk and has been very curious about getting to know the campers from Ukraine and Israel!
Shabbat Shalom!
