It is so hard to believe that our first long session is coming to an end.  It is so true what they say – the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days.  And here we are saying goodbye.

Some of our campers have been crying for a week now.  Last Friday night at folkdance, we were singing the Goodnight Song and I looked out at the hundreds of people in white with their arms around each other and the tears began….the last folkdance of the summer for most of them.

Then, every night since….marking the last fill-in-the-blank….Sunday lunch, Folkdance Festival, free swim, etc.

It seems like just yesterday we were starting off our 101st summer at Camp Louise!

And now we sat around tonight in Jill’s Place for our closing evening….presenting awards for Athlete of the Session and our annual swim recognitions, singing our rendition of the 12 Days of Summer Camp, followed by Dance Concert.

We then moved down to Solarium as the CAs shared a closing song, and we watched our last slide show – recapping the week with incredible pictures from our amazing photographers.

And we put our arms around each other one final time for the last Goodnight Song of the session.

The tears flowed.

And the countdown has already begun until these campers are back in 21719 for summer 2024!

And as for our 5 and 7 weekers and our staff….we get a short break until our next group of campers arrive on Monday, so we can do it all over again!  We are most definitely the lucky ones!

Lila Tov, Camp Louise!
